SCAM  WARNING!!!

Dear Readers,

It has come to my attention that there is a website out there that is an embarrassment to the martial arts community.  This website is written by mostly non-traditional martial artists, who are abusing the right of “free speech” to insult, to abuse, and to spread vicious lies about well-known martial artists.  The true purpose of their website is to promote their business and support their greed.  It is a business built on disparaging a martial artist’s reputation through insinuations and falsehoods, all for the purpose of directing unsuspecting web users to click on their website, and to collect the hundreds of thousands of dollars paid by the Google Adware program, click by click.   The supposed “martial artists” who post on this website hide behind anonymous names, and often have several identities who ask and answer slanderous questions, all in the name of creating controversy and generating more “hits” on the site.

NOW EXPOSED!!!  Find out who is behind these lies and how they make money causing martial artists to defend themselves and answer the personal assaults.  The more anger, the more controversy; the more the owners of the website fill their pockets with dirty money.  It makes you want to want to ask,  can’t you find an honest income without purposefully lying and degrading others? For additional skullduggery and scam exposure: go to  http://articlesnatch.com/Article/.../1200441 and  http://bullshido.info and http://bullshido.info/forums/farhillsnjmasterchristianwhitney.html

Please do not patronize this despicable site…they make money on every click.

As stated in http://zendoryukarate.com, most of the information about me and my accomplishments was not written by me, but extracted from Who’s Who in Karate and Who’s Who in American Martial Arts thirty years ago plus updates on rank, training and masters.

Response to Readers:

One of my Black Belts brought my attention to this site where anyone can say anything about anyone whether they think it’s true or not. It’s amazing that these cowards can tuck their tail between their legs and say anything about anyone using a made up name. I’m sure they have a lot of fun committing internet bullying and cyber terrorism because they can’t/won’t prove any of their nonsense. It would be laughable (we all had a good laugh) if it weren’t so pitiful. If you can’t achieve something worthwhile in life---tear down someone else. It’s like these defects want to set a terrorist bomb to get noticed and then hide in their comfortable anonymity.

Of course, in my decorous life I have no interest in answering most of these ridiculous statements. But, some are so funny I want to share with you the total ignorance of some people’s lack of either education or reason.

One guy says he never heard of us. He does mention a sign (we have many) in friends’ and students’ stores. That particular store is on the street where I ran the oldest, largest, most well known martial arts school for 40 years! Just who doesn’t know whom? These signs are put out by my Black Belts who have their own dojos. I have been retired since 2003. I still teach advanced people and give seminars in aikijujitsu to karate and similar hand & foot arts schools.

Other people mention my experience and credentials. They mention a handout sheet. This sheet is available to anyone who asks for it at a school. I did not write this information. This sheet is just a copy from a book written by and published 30 years ago when I was inducted into Who’s Who In Karate and later, Who’s Who In American Martial Arts. Updates have been done as more education, rank, experience and close relationships with Grandmasters and/or their disciples has been accomplished over the years by staff.

One writer asks who promoted and trained him? Another writer complains I listed everyone I trained with going back to my beginning in 1948.. My whole life from birth is out there for people to see. I was born snowbound in a small cabin in the woods of the North. The doctor came to us in snowshoes. My father was nature loving agropastoralist. That may explain why I feel the need on my annual meditation, spiritual study and Zen retreat to go into the forest and mountain wilderness as monks have done for centuries. My background is published. I name names, I name places, I name styles, I name dates and years. My whole life is open to the world. I have nothing to hide.

By the way, one goofball said I didn’t know Grandmaster Don Angier. In 2009 I went to his aikijujitsu seminar. We reminisced about the old days and I have pictures with him. I am the only karate Master who trained with him in his original 7th street Los Angeles dojo in the 1960’s. You see, most of this stuff is just made up or opening mouth without turning on brain. Imagine how ridiculous they look walking around with their foot in their mouth.

Matter of fact, some of this stuff is just so silly that it is hard to believe any of the nonsense on this site. How about this one: I drank three pitchers of beer with this person, it says ----? before a test! But what about the ten pizzas I ate with it? Pizza makes you thirsty after all. We couldn’t stop laughing at what passes for information in this comic book. For the record, I am six feet tall and I only weigh 20 pounds more now than my fighting weight at (180-185lbs) in my twenties in the army, for near full contact karate & jujitsu matches and while on the police force. That was over 50 years ago! Remember, this was before television was invented.  Later, I switched from being a policeman to being a police combat trainer. Then many of my Black Belts became police, sheriff, and highway patrol academy self-defense instructors.

A couple just quick things here because this is so redundant: 1. Disparaging comments were made about other martial artists that I don’t even know.  2. It’s 40 years too late to question my ordination in 1972. Since then I have been involved in hundreds of services, spiritual retreats, meditation classes, weddings and funerals. Sadly, the last eulogy service I performed was at the funeral of the mother of my students. Over the years, she entrusted all three of her children to me. Two of her children, a man and a woman, are now in the military and served in Iraq. One was so good at his martial arts they gave him a black belt and made him an instructor, even though he was only a green belt with me.  3. Someone didn’t like the article in  a martial arts black belt magazine.   It was a six-page, full color article. This is simply one of dozens of magazine and newspaper articles done on me and our martial arts over a 45 year period. Thank you very much.

There was, however, one statement that did offend me. This was a statement that I had no connection to Grandmaster Kanken Toyama. He founded the All Japan Karate Association in 1946 that I have always belonged to. His signature is on my First Degree Black Belt Certificate. He also taught Mr. Nishiyama, who I worked with and belonged to AAKF for nearly 50 years. Grandmaster Toyama also developed from his original Shorin (ji) Ryu Karate training his own style (Ryu) as most of the old first masters of Japan did. All of them did, even Gigen Funakoshi’s Shotokan. Toyama’s style was named Shudokan. One writer then sent a list of only Japanese names who were descendents of Shudokan. How racist! This is a great insult to the late and great American Master Walter Todd 8th dan. He was one of the very highest ranked  masters of any race at any time in Shudokan Karate. He has hundreds of descendants in America right now. These are themselves now high ranking Black Belts teaching and passing on his great legacy. This writer sounds like he (?) wants to assassinate the reputation Walter Todd’s students like Karl Scott, president of Walter Todd’s Shudokan Martial Arts Association. Walter Todd trained in all three major martial arts: Shudokan Karate, Aikido, and Jujitsu (Judo). It would be a great insult to his high ranking students. e.g., Dr Herbert Wong, Gary Hu, Christian Sensei, Smoger Sensei, and Timothy Kelly, all 5th degree to 8th degree black belts now.

So dear reader, these malicious questions, complaints, illogical and mean spirited   statements makes you wonder if they don’t come from a sociopathic, “the sky is falling” mentality.  Some of the statements “hidden as a ninja” as a query----? seem to be set up to throw the reader off as in Jujutsu (this is in code). Yes, I know who both of you are, and I know about your police records and arrests. Don’t make me go into the psychiatric evaluations and your record of sexual child abuse. I am showing you a kindness to not reveal your “secret identities.” Please don’t embarrass your present aikijujitsu instructor in Long Beach, Ca. any more than you already have.

Other writers seem just uneducated or maybe uninformed. I feel sad for the death of innocence involved in these venomous remarks meant to infect true martial arts people of integrity. Readers, don’t let yourself be sucked into this kind of website that only lives on muck. There are real problems in the world. Please join me in trying to help those who are really suffering. I have given money to people suffering from natural disasters. I have trained policemen to stop crime, murders, and drug dealers. I have given time and money to help the poor people in foreign countries. I have even had a commendation for saving a man’s life. Twenty-five years ago I developed a martial arts program for “kids at risk” and low income families. I am proud to say that program is alive and well today. I support an internet portal that auctions people’s skills for various charities. I support several charities because personal friends of mine who suffer or have died from these tragic diseases.

Readers, there are some out there whose feelings I may have hurt (or their ego?). Training at our headquarters was tough & rough. Some people got hurt or yelled at for not following our strict safety rules. (Free dojo sparring rules available-e-mail for directions.) Some students are mad or seek revenge because they simply were not good enough to receive our high quality black belt. Here is a typical e-mail from an old student (I have thousands as my students spread all over the world)

Dear Sensei,

“I would like to thank you for leaving me with life-long basic fundamentals of martial arts. Let me begin with a little history behind my praise. My father, Frank N---, introduced me to martial arts as form of structure and discipline, which he felt could help in my upbringing. It gave me the confidence to deal with bullies at school as well as the harsh streets of Los Angeles. My father reached his much-coveted brown belt while attending this school and I earned a green belt (lower level). Although my learning was cut short when we moved, I still have not forgotten the fundamentals taught me. I now live in Northern California with my beautiful wife and two grown children. I’m searching to find a martial arts instructor in my area who can come close. Any help would be greatly appreciated.”

Regards,

 David N---

I can never satisfy every small complaint, query, slander or revenge motive of jealous or uneducated complainers. I want to end this nonsense (means: no sense) with a Japanese proverb: “If you going to seek revenge, dig two graves----one for them and one for yourself.” In conferring with a mental health expert who is an advisor to a major TV self-help show----Yes, he lives just down the street from me and his show is shot only a few miles from here in Hollywood),  I was given insight into this kind of disturbed person who whines online about other people’s alleged short-comings. Please don’t be just a complainer with malicious statements. It comes from your own lack of self-worth. Frankly, it just makes you look angry, desperate and pathetic.

IN CONCLUSION:   A few words from my spiritual teachers to offer an open-hand and open-mind to health and peace for you

“Do not make unimportant things important, nor concentrate on trifles at the expense of vital matters, or you will hamper your progress. Impulsive actions that are not in keeping with one’s real duties are undesirable.” -Paramahansa Yogananda, in a “Par-a-gram.”

Whether you are suffering in this life, or smiling with opulence and power, your consciousness should remain unchanged throughout the varied experiences. If you can accomplish even-mindedness, nothing can ever hurt you. The lives of all great masters show that they have achieved this blessed state.”–Paramahansa Yogananda, Self-Realization Magazine.

Cultivating Yogi-like Virtues

Physical nature is the world; spirit is pure consciousness. The ability to discriminate between worldly and spiritual is a key to your advancement. This capacity does not come merely through intellectual knowing; it comes through steadfastly cultivating certain virtues and out-looks. These include:

Being humble and harmless

Being gentle and forgiving of any hurt you receive

Being upright and harmonized in your thoughts, words, and deeds

Being pure of mind, as purity is indispensable to your spiritual growth

Escaping the worldly deluge of mental pollution and increasingly learning to turn your back on social life and commotion.

Living Spiritually

Seeing yourself not as this body-mind complex but as the Atma (soul)

Knowing that you truly are the Atma, the eternal reality that is beyond the worldly

Knowing in your heart that excellence emanates only from the Divine (which is in you)

Being a slave to nothing and no one!”
